Being Prepared vs. Being Scared

With Hurricane Irene making her approach to my part of the nation and the state, people are naturally apprehensive and fearful. None of us want to suffer at the hands of disaster, and it's always wise to be wise in terms of being prepared. I have water, ice, and a few days of food. I've cleaned up, and done the laundry to make sure we have clean clothes for the next several days. My vehicle has gas in it, I've charged my laptop and other communication devices, and have back up chargers in my vehicle. And if I need to leave (evacuate) I will use wisdom and do that too.

I have my windows open, at least for right now, to allow some fresh air into my home that has been locked up and managed by central air conditioning all summer. Once it starts raining, I'll get up and close the windows like someone who not only has common sense, but knows how to use it.

I'm going to sleep peacefully tonight, rather than in fear of this pending storm, because I know that I am safe in His arms!  After all, being prepared and being scared are two different things.
