My Super Tiny Teeny-Weeny Ex - 6

I knew I was doing the right thing marrying Sydney because us continuing to 'shack-up' was just what the devil wanted. I'd learned all about how much he hated marriage and families when I attended a few women's conferences hosted by Yalisa’s church. I'd even got Sydney to join me on couples' night. I had to coax and beg a little but I was able to get him to come down to the altar for prayer when the pastor said he wanted to pray for all the couples that were contemplating marriage. I can still remember most of that prayer too.

Father, we lift these men and women up before You Lord as they seek Your guidance in journeying into a sacred covenant and most holy union that You created and honor. I pray that you grant them wisdom Lord, and understanding. We bind confusion and deceit and loose revelation and knowledge oh God, that their steps may be sure. We thank and praise you for healthy marriage relationships and stronger families. Give each of them a listening ear to hear what you would say to the hearts of these men and women Lord, then give us the wisdom and strength to obey. These things we ask in your precious name Lord, amen.

I squeezed Sydney’s hand all the way back to our seats, and knew we were making the right move when I saw him smudge away a tear. So forget momma and them. I was tired of repenting for fornicating and I knew I wasn’t gonna stop, I didn’t want a long history of shacking and my baby needed his father. And if we weren’t supposed to be together, he would have never ran into me in the mall that day. There had to be some divine connection in that.
