He brings me flowers at least once, and sometimes twice a week, and not “for no reason,” but because he loves me and takes pleasure in showering me with affection, both publically and at home.
He’s not timid about the fact that he adores and cherishes me, and he doesn’t mind waiting on me hand and foot, and responds to my every need. He often times meets me for lunch in the middle of his workday, roses in tow. He spoils me ridiculously and always tells me that I am the best part of his day.
So . . . one of my friends - let’s call her Stacy, who has met my husband and can vouch that all of the above is true, shared with me today that other members of my staff, who have not met my husband asked if I was married to a white man.
“What would make people ask that?” - That’s what I said - with crinkled brow no less.
Just then, one of the girls who had made such inquiry - Let’s call her Angela, walked by so I took the opportunity to ask her . . .
“What made you ask if my husband was white?” - That's what I said - still puzzled no less.
“Because he’s just so sweeeeeet! He brings you flowers all the time and takes you to lunch . . . ” she trailed off with a starry look in her eyes.
“So are you saying black men can’t be sweet?” I asked.
Angela twisted her lips and gave no response, while Stacy immediately barked “NO!!”
Now we all know that shoes come in many different colors, but are black stilettos really that rare? Do stilettos mostly come in white???
Ladies and Gents, please help me understand!!! Please leave your comments!!
